Credentials:

  • Valid Oklahoma Drivers License and acceptable driving record

Education:

  • High school/GED

Training or Experience Required:

  • 1 year related experience

Special Skills Knowledge Abilities:

  • Record keeping ticketing system
  • Communication skills: give and receive simple instructions filling out forms tickets
  • Skills in using measurement devices.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform general maintenance on HVAC systems.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry plumbing painting electrical and mechanical work.
  • Acquire the ability to support each essential trade discipline satisfactorily with knowledge of tools and techniques to complete the task

Contact with Others:Some contact with the public and with members of staff of district.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs miscellaneous repair maintenance construction general installation and preventative maintenance work under the direction of Supervisor Site/Operations Manager or skilled trades person.
  • Performs a variety of repair and tasks while directly assisting trades personnel including and not limited to:
  • replacing floor tile
  • replacing electrical ballasts and fluorescent tubes
  • painting out graffiti
  • repair fencing
  • patch asphalt or concrete
  • installing paper towel or toilet paper dispensers
  • patching holes in plaster or wood walls
  • installing movie screens chalkboards tack boards
  • scraping paint
  • cleaning out keyways of locks vandalism repair work
  • preventative maintenance on equipment
  • pressure washing
  • locker repair work
  • tile repair
  • replacement both ceiling and ceramic bathroom tile
  • indoor and outdoor bleacher repair
  • grounds and tree maintenance
  • Operates various equipment to perform woodwork furniture and/or flooring repair
  • Moves and arranges furniture and equipment
  • Performs minor inspection duties of work performed or general building condition under the direction of a supervisor of a skilled trades person.
  • Cleans worksites including hauling debris and trash to the dumpster cleaning tools and equipment and ensuring tools materials and equipment are stored properly.
  • Required to have prompt regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance

Supervision exercised: Employee does not provide direct supervision over staff.

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • In a work day the employee must stand/walk 6-8 hours per day. Employees job requires occasional to frequent to continuous bending/stooping squatting/crouching pushing/pulling climbing (up to 40 feet on occasion on automatic air life to change lights/repair scoreboard in gym) and reaching above the shoulders. Occasional crawling/kneeling is required.
  • Employees job requires frequent carrying/lifting of up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting from 35-90 pounds carrying tool boxes welding equipment motors and equipment.
  • Employee must possess manual dexterity/visual ability to operate hand and power tools and ladders safely. Must be able to read labels blueprints and schematics. Employee must possess hearing to distinguish normal/abnormal sounds. Must be able to communicate with following works and the public. Must be able to climb ladders and work within confined spaces. Must be able to see problems and dangers in low visibility situations.
  • Employees job requires working on unprotected heights to change out parking lot lights and on roof; Use of/close to machinery (boilers/air handlers); working in the outdoors with temperature changes; driving motorized equipment (tractors trucks buses and lifts); exposure to toxic and pressurized gas (freon) liquids high voltages and working on live circuits.
