2026-267 High School Fall Play Assistant Director

Lewis Central Community School District is looking foran Assistant Directorfor the2026-27 High School Fall play. Desired applicants will have experience intheatre production.

The typical season or commitment period for this position runs approximately August-November though some time may be required before or after that window for planning student development or program support.

Job Summary:

Under the general direction of theActivitiesDirector andPlay Director this position helps lead mentor and support students involved in extracurricular programming fostering both individual growth and team or ensemble success.

Qualifications:

• Experience withtheatre productionis preferred

• Strong knowledge of techniques practices or strategies relevant to the specific activity

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to student development and positive youth engagement

• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues students and families

• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills

• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Willingness to follow safety protocols and district policies

Essential Functions

• Assist in the planning and implementation of practices rehearsals or meetings that support student learning and participation
• Support student participants in building skills confidence and a sense of belonging
• Promote a positive and inclusive culture that encourages collaboration responsibility and respect
• Maintain effective communication with students families and school staff
• Attend events performances competitions or exhibitions as required
• Support the overall mission and goals of the program and the district
• Uphold the standards and expectations set forth by the school district and any relevant governing bodies (e.g. IHSAA IGHSAU IHSSA)

Travel Requirements:

This position may require travel to events competitions or some cases the individual may be asked to transport students in a school vehicle.
