About Boston PrepBoston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district made up of a single-site middle and high 2026-2027 our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12 nearly 500 alumni over 150 faculty members and hundreds of families. Together we can make a difference in the lives of our students and build a brighter future for our an Occupational Therapist you believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the contentof your Responsibilities of the role:Provide direct support and consultation for students with occupational therapy needsMaintain case load of studentsDiagnostic therapy and subsequent delivery of services as stated in IEPsConsult with staff and parents as neededReview information and records to determine appropriate assessment batteryPerform all initial and Re-evaluations Compile clinical written evaluation reports according to testing timelinesParticipate in IEP meetings as needed; make specific recommendations report progress and present evaluation findingsKeep daily therapy logs and track service delivery in accordance with school systemsMaintain parent communication log as needed in cooperation with other school staff (i.e. phone log e-mail etc.)Maintain collaborative communication with staff to ensure consistent service deliveryCollaborate with all student service providers to identify and implement student accommodations in a variety of environmentsAttend staff meetings in-service training parent meetings student-centered staff meetingsCompile individual student progress reports as required and within estimated timelinesReview of all cumulative records of assigned students including: IEPs evaluations progress notes statusreports medical background a respectful positive student centered professional attitudeAttend to assigned dutiesReporting to Director of Support ServicesClassroom Management Family Partnership and School Culture Building:Communicating frequently with students families and school leaders around academic and behavioral progressAttending occasional after-school eventsPartnering with team members students and families to actively uproot racism and inequality in our communityModeling empathy embodying the mindset that kids do well if they canUpholding school and grade level systems and structures with fidelityAssuming extracurricular responsibilities if desiredAdditional Expectations and Responsibilities:Additional responsibilities including but not limited to may involve tasks such as supervising lunch periods managing swipe and front desk duties and covering classes in the absence of other staff membersDemonstrates flexibility and a commitment to the schools mission by undertaking additional responsibilities and contributing to school-wide initiatives as needed even when not explicitly outlined in the job description to support the overall success of the school communityMaintenance of Organizational Culture:Engage in continuous learning and seek regular feedbackParticipate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practicesAdhere to all school policies procedures and state regulations including maintaining accurate records and preparing required reportsEducation Qualifications and Certifications/Licensure:B.S. in Occupational TherapyMassachusetts License as Occupational TherapyPhysical Demands and Work Environmental Factors:Ability to sit stand and walk for extended to lift up to 25 to use a computer and other classroom to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standardsEEO Statement:Boston Prep provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race color religion age sex national origindisability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any othercharacteristic protected by federal state or local laws.
