Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a MaintenanceTechnicianposition that is available in our division.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The MaintenanceTechnicianis required to perform a variety of tasks in the general maintenance and repair of buildings grounds facilities and equipment of all MCPS property within the county to maintain a condition of operating excellence. TheMaintenanceTechnicianworks as part of a team to make repairs internal and exterior in carpentry; door hardware and keying; installation maintenance and repair for Mortise deadbolts cylinder locks classroom locks padlocks file cabinet locks and student locks; plumbing painting masonry grounds maintenance HVAC and within skill level help all other maintenance personnel when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience:
• Ability to follow written and oral directions
• Possess effective mechanical aptitude
• Possess a working knowledge of mechanical and carpentry tools
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength on a continual basis
• Ability to cooperate with other staff members
• Must be dependable and punctual

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Career and Technology Education courses in carpentry machining and/or automotive repair
