Salary and Benefits:

The salary range is $47588 - $103098depending on education/experience plus a generousbenefit plan.

About the Position

Springfield Public Schools seeks outstanding candidates for the position of Grade 1 Teacher at Mt. Vernon Elementary School.To support this work successful candidates will possess the following characteristics that support our vision ofEvery Student Every Dayand share our values:

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience with elementary school-aged students;
• Strong understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and social/emotional/behavior
• Knowledge and experience working in a school or district that implements the concepts of Response to Intervention (RtI);
• Knowledge of school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS);
• Demonstrated understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds that characterize a K-12 school community in a manner specific to the position;
• Strong student relationship building skills and the ability to establish a sound system of classroom routines and management;
• Establishes effective collaborative working relationships with diverse staff student and community populations.
• Ability to effectively manage and supervise students and their work.

Minimum Qualifications

• A valid state of Oregon teaching license or the ability to get one with an Elementary Multiple Subjects endorsement;
• Successfully pass fingerprinting criminal Oregon Department of Education and TSPC background checks.
