We are looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer to join our customers engineering team and take ownership of performance testing across a modern AWS-based microservices platform.
In this role you will design and implement scalable performance testing strategies establish performance benchmarks and work closely with Platform Engineering DevX SDET and product teams to ensure applications remain reliable scalable and production-ready. Youll play a key role in identifying bottlenecks analyzing system behavior and driving performance improvements across the platform.
Responsibilities
Design and develop comprehensive performance test suites for microservices and shared platform components running on AWS.
Define performance KPIs baselines and acceptance thresholds to support release readiness and platform reliability.
Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevX Platform Engineering SDET and product teams.
Execute non-functional testing including load stress spike endurance and scalability testing.
Analyze application logs metrics and observability data to identify performance bottlenecks and system degradations.
Establish and maintain performance baselines for both microservices and legacy applications to enable long-term benchmarking.
Investigate production-like issues and customer-reported performance problems performing root cause analysis across applications APIs databases and infrastructure.
Provide recommendations to optimize application architecture APIs databases and infrastructure.
Document testing results trends performance improvements and recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.
Requirements
6 years of hands-on experience in performance testing for cloud-native microservices-based SaaS applications.
Strong experience with performance testing tools such as k6 Gatling Locust or JMeter.
Hands-on experience with observability and monitoring platforms including Prometheus Grafana Datadog ELK Stack or AWS CloudWatch.
Solid knowledge of AWS services including EC2 RDS S3 ECS and EKS.
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.
Proficiency in Python (or similar scripting languages) for automation performance analysis and tooling.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with experience in root cause analysis statistical evaluation forecasting and trend analysis.
Experience collaborating with distributed engineering teams in remote-first environments.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Czech language skills are considered an advantage.
