The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for designing implementing and optimizing the organizations cost accounting framework. This role supports product costing inventory accounting and cost analysis within a manufacturing environment. The Senior Cost Accountant partners with Finance Production Supply Chain Procurement and Warehouse teams to maintain accurate cost data support operational decision-making and improve financial visibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a standard costing system including defining and maintaining production costs for materials labor and overhead to support accurate product costing and margin analysis.
  • Lead the configuration and implementation of costing modules within the ERP system (Odoo) ensuring procurement manufacturing and inventory workflows integrate accurately with the general ledger.
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to support accounting for multi-currency transactions international logistics import/export duties and cross-border vendor activity.
  • Perform actual-to-standard cost variance analysis and provide reporting to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records for raw materials electronic components work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory.
  • Lead physical inventory counts and cycle count activities to support inventory accuracy.
  • Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and evaluate the cost impact of engineering and production changes.
  • Prepare monthly cost accounting reports inventory reports and variance analyses.
  • Support month-end close activities related to inventory and manufacturing accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with Ukrainian Accounting Standards (UAS) and U.S. GAAP including maintaining documentation to support audit requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate cost accounting and inventory control processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Economics or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in cost accounting including experience developing or implementing cost accounting structures within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience implementing or configuring ERP costing modules such as Odoo SAP NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of production costing and inventory accounting principles.
  • Experience supporting multi-currency transactions international logistics accounting and cross-border vendor accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of both Ukrainian Accounting Standards (UAS) and U.S. GAAP.
  • English proficiency sufficient to work with documentation and communicate across cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted tools and the ability to leverage them to improve productivity and workflow efficiency while ensuring the accuracy quality and confidentiality of work products.
