UVM Front-End Developer 1

Position Overview

The UVM Front-End Developer 1 is responsible for designing implementing and optimizing front-end components to ensure responsive designs that adapt seamlessly across all devices. This role collaborates with designers product managers and back-end developers to deliver high quality products write clean code and resolve cross-browser and cross-platform issues. Additionally the role will contribute to improving development processes participate in code review and assist with testing and quality assurance processes. This position works in an office environment.

Working Conditions:

• Normal no adverse or hazardous conditions in regular or hybrid office setting. Any remote/hybrid work arrangements must be approved by Davey.

Job Duties

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design implement and optimize front-end components and features using HTML CSS and JavaScript.
• Develop and implement responsive designs that adapt to various screen sizes and devices for optimal user experience across all platforms.
• Write clean efficient well-documented and testable code that adheres to best practices and follows internal DRG code guidelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cross-browser and cross-platform issues for consistent functionality and performance across environments.
• Assist in testing and quality assurance processes of front-end applications.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality maintainability adherence to best practices and alignment with project requirements while fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Collaborate with designers product managers and other developers to deliver innovative high-quality products that meet both user needs and business goals.
• Collaborate with software development team members to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Continuously research and update knowledge of the latest technologies trends and best practices to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
• Provide collaborative solutions for clients ensuring a customer-centric approach and successful implementation of software products.
• Participate in technical discussions to contribute insights evaluate solutions and collaborate on decisions that drive project success and innovation.
• Contribute to the improvement of development processes.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
Required: Successfully complete on-the-job training for DRG UVM-specific technologies and systems.
Required: Solid understanding of HTML CSS or JavaScript.
Required: Familiarity with responsive design principles.
Required: Strong debugging analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Required: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
Required: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Required: Passion for creating great user experiences.
Required: Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Preferred: One or more years of experience in front-end development including internship experience.
Preferred: Basic understanding of JavaScript frameworks/libraries (React Angular ). Angular is preferred.
Preferred: Experience with testing frameworks (Jest Cypress). Jest is a plus.
Preferred: Experience with version control systems (Git).
Preferred: Awareness of security best practices (authentication authorization data encryption).
Preferred: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) concepts and their application.
