Job Summary
A vacancy has risen for a Sergeant People (Ops) RAF PTI to serve as SNCO Res Spt 3 at SE&W RSW RAF Brize Norton on Part Time Volunteer Reserve (PTVR) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 05 October 2026 (or earlier depending on candidates circumstances).
Reporting to the XO SE&W RSW the post is based at RAF Brize Norton and is an integral part of the trg specialisation providing specialist Physical Education support and advice.
SE&W RSW Mission is to recruit train and deliver motivated and inspired RAF Reservists to Royal Auxiliary Air Force (RAuxAF) Squadrons within the SE&W AOR ready to embark on Phase 2 training and ultimately deliver operational output for the RAF.
The team is entrepreneurial initiative-taking and work in a highly collaborative forward leaning challenging environment. We work closely with RAuxAF squadrons civilian employers outside agencies and tri-Service personnel to enable a supportive collaborative trg and recruitment environment. As SNCO Res Spt 3 SE&W RSW you are responsible for the Physical Education (PEd). In line with the requirements of AP 3342 you are responsible for the implementation and delivery of the RAF Fitness Strategy (RAFFS). This includes:
Voluntary Fitness Training for permanent staff.
RAF Fitness Test (RAFFT) for Ph 1 trainees.
Supervision of the Wg Force Development (FD) and Facilitation programme.
Supervision of the Wg Adventurous Training (AT) programme.
Training Management:
When required and in conjunction with the SE&W RSW CofC ensure the development and maintenance of a Wg Management of Trg System (MTS). Ensure trg is safe effective represents value for money and is delivered in full compliance with JSP 822: Defence Direction & Guidance for Training & Education.
Supervision implementation design and delivery of the SE&W RSW Phase 1 Training Programme (and associated training within the boundaries of the SE&W RSW AOR or another RSW (Reserve Support Wing) as detailed by the CofC) in accordance with training objectives. Performing the duties and role of Wg Force Development (FD) representative including the requirement to provide FD AT and Staff Ride opportunities for Wg personnel as directed by the Wg management in accordance with Force.
Maintaining the highest standards of dress deportment and discipline amongst Wg Training personnel.
Ensure resources for the delivery of formal trg are procured in accordance with the Trg Delivery Authorities requirements.
The organisation and administration of Wg ATTRACT and Engagement events within the SE&W AOR and on occasion nationally as directed by the CofC.
