Senior Support Infrastructure Engineer

The role

Youll play a key role in supporting ANSs core infrastructure helping to keep our platforms highly available secure and performing at their best for our customers.

Youll act as an escalation point for the wider engineering team getting involved in more complex issues and building out your expertise across our platform.

Working closely with the infrastructure team youll support patching firmware upgrades and proactive maintenance to keep everything up to date. Youll also collaborate with vendors across our stack to ensure smooth integration and ongoing support.

What will I be doing

• Act as a 3rd line escalation point for the eCloud platform supporting the wider team in resolving complex issues
• Proactively monitor systems identifying and addressing performance or stability issues before they impact customers
• Work closely with other technical teams to deliver a high-quality support experience across our platforms
• Take ownership of escalations with vendors driving issues through to resolution
• Ensure platform stability and security through regular patching firmware upgrades and system maintenance
• Support capacity planning and help prepare the platform for future growth
• Carry out platform audits and health checks to maintain performance and compliance
• Create and maintain clear high-quality technical documentation and processes
• Build strong working relationships across technical and commercial teams
• Support change incident management and CAB processes in line with ANS standards
• Assist senior platformengineers with the delivery of platform improvements and infrastructure changes
• Occasionally support out-of-hours work for critical updates or platform changes

What will I bring to the role

• Previous experience as an infrastructure engineer working in an enterprise or multi-tenant environment
• Experience with VMware 7 and above
• Experience With SAN Storage Technologies (3par Nimble Netapp Dell Compellent) is ideal
• Understanding of fundamental computer architecture networking virtualisation storage and operating system concepts
• Previous experience usingbackups technologies and disaster recovery
• Strong Troubleshooting and Diagnostic skills
• Operational Experience with NSX 3.0 Desirable
• Ability to produce good quality documentation
• Scripting abilities in Powershell and PowerCLI
• Exposure to Cisco UCS
• Willingness to do on call
• Eligibilty for HMG Security Clearance
