We are seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to join a growing and well-established fire engineering consultancy in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fire professional to take ownership of projects support junior engineers and work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile schemes across the UK.
You will play a key role in delivering compliant innovative and performance-led fire engineering solutions across multiple sectors including residential commercial healthcare and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and delivery of Fire Strategy Reports.
Undertake and review PAS 9980 FRAEW assessments.
Deliver performance-based fire engineering design solutions.
Provide technical input across RIBA Stages 16.
Liaise with architects design teams contractors and approving authorities.
Support Building Regulations compliance including Approved Document B.
Mentor and support Graduate and Intermediate Engineers.
Attend client meetings and represent the business in a professional capacity.
Experience & Skills Required
Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience delivering fire strategies within a consultancy environment.
Strong working knowledge of Approved Document B BS 9991 BS 9999 and relevant fire safety legislation.
Experience with façade assessments and PAS 9980 desirable.
Familiarity with the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Order.
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders.
Working towards or already achieved Chartership (IFE/CEng) desirable.
