Secure Network Engineer
Location Central London
We are looking for a Secure Network Engineer to support a number of networks consisting of varying technologies. Your role will involve working as part of the WAN/LAN Support role will require the incumbent to work a 24 hour shift pattern to satisfy a particular operational need.
Responsibilities include:
Part of the WAN/LAN Operational Support Team particularly the Bespoke Engineering Team (BES).
Responsible for providing a high level of support and advice to all of the BES user community.
Takes ownership of incidents and progresses them through to resolution.
Investigate service improvements and make recommendations based on these investigations.
Able to work in a team or on their own with no or very little supervision.
Produce and present service reports using tools available.
Perform known existing implementation solutions return to baseline configuration of routers and switches if and when required.
Takes ownership of more complex issues than at TSS3 level.
Escalates to Management where required.
Well established self-sufficient team member.
Participate in a call out rota/over time where required.
Ability to work at short notice (within reason) when required
Your experience
Ideally hold certifications in Networking technologies.
Experience handling cryptographic materials
Working understanding of Serial Networking Technologies. Training for Bespoke Technologies will be given in house.
Commercial networking experience.
Good knowledge of networking technologies i.e. LAN WAN TCP/IP x21 x25 RS232 routing voice switching and subnet addressing.
Strong in depth knowledge of networking of network implementation work.
Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
Multiplexing networks & Broadcasts - Desirable
You must be willing and eligible to undergo a high level of security clearance for this position.
