Role Summary
The Registered Manager is the clinical and regulatory cornerstone of Hometouch. You will hold CQC registration on behalf of the business lead our clinical governance framework and be the principal point of accountability for the quality and safety of our regulated care service.
This is not a back-office compliance role. We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional or a clinical governance specialist with genuine dementia expertise the confidence to lead a care team and shape clinical standards and the commercial awareness to support our growth. You will work closely with the CEO COO and Head of Clinical Governance to ensure our regulated service is outstanding in every respect.
Key Responsibilities
Registration & Regulatory Leadership
Hold and maintain CQC registration as Registered Manager; take direct responsibility for the regulated service
Ensure the service meets all fundamental standards including Regulationsand 20
Lead preparation for CQC inspections; produce evidence portfolios and coordinate inspection-readiness activities
Submit all statutory notifications accurately and on time
Maintain and continuously improve the services regulatory compliance records and quality audit programme
2. Dementia Care Quality & Clinical Standards
Set and embed clinical standards for dementia care across the regulated service
Lead the design and review of complex dementia care plans risk assessments and mental capacity assessments
Act as the clinical authority on dementia best practice advising carers families and the wider team
Develop and deliver dementia-specific training and competency frameworks for the carer workforce
Champion person-centred life story-based approaches to dementia care across all client interactions
3. Clinical Governance & Safety
Oversee the clinical governance framework: audits care plan reviews incident investigation complaints management
Chair the weekly CQC and MDT meetings; ensure actions are followed up and outcomes documented
Lead safeguarding investigations in line with local authority and CQC expectations
Maintain oversight of medication management manual handling competencies and complex care protocols (PEG trache spinal care)
Ensure all records in PASS and clinical systems are accurate contemporaneous and audit-ready
4. Team Leadership & Carer Workforce
Lead clinical supervision appraisals and performance management for the nursing and clinical team (Nursing Lead clinical coordinators)
Oversee carer recruitment compliance in line with Regulation 19 and Schedule 3; ensure all fitness-to-practice checks are robust
Design and deliver mandatory training induction and ongoing CPD for carers on the regulated pathway
Support the Head of Recruitment in ensuring carer quality standards are upheld at the point of onboarding
5. Commercial Contribution & Growth
Participate in complex family consultations and clinical assessments for high-acuity or complex dementia enquiries
Support the introductory-to-regulated transition pipeline: identify clients suitable for regulated service and work with the account management team to facilitate transition
Contribute to the sales and partnerships narrative including supporting clinically credible content for partner outreach and family communications
Provide clinical input into product development and technology roadmaps to improve the quality of the care experience
Represent Hometouch externally at clinical events partner meetings and with referral sources such as NHS discharge teams memory clinics and OTs
6. Reporting & Governance
Produce monthly and quarterly quality and compliance reports for the CEO and board
Contribute to the CQC Outstanding evidence file and self-assessment on an ongoing basis
Flag material clinical risks near misses or systemic concerns to the CEO and Nominated
Job requirements
Clinical Leadership & Governance
Essential Requirements
Registered healthcare professional (e.g. NMC-registered nurse AHP) OR an experienced clinical governance professional with a track record in regulated health or social care settings
Demonstrable track record as a Registered Manager in a CQC-regulated domiciliary or live-in care setting
Deep knowledge of CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) and Regulationsand 20
Experience leading statutory notifications safeguarding investigations and complaint resolution
Confident conducting clinical assessments overseeing care plans and managing complex packages
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent/commitment to achieve)
Desirable Requirements
Personal experience of achieving a CQC Outstanding rating or direct involvement in a team that has achieved Outstanding
Post-registration qualification in dementia care (e.g. Admiral Nurse pathway City & Guilds Dementia)
Dementia Expertise
Essential Requirements
Specialist knowledge of dementia care best practice including person-centred care BPSD management and life story approaches
Experience designing and overseeing dementia-specific care plans in a live-in or home care setting
Ability to train and coach carers in dementia communication techniques and safe practice
Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and DoLS frameworks as applied in community settings
Desirable Requirements
Training in specific dementia frameworks (e.g. Teepa Snow SPECAL Contented Dementia Trust)
Experience with clinical research participation or dementia innovation programmes
Commercial & Business Aptitude
Essential Requirements
Ability to contribute to business growth including participating in complex family consultations converting self-funders and supporting the introductory-to-regulated transition pipeline
Commercially aware: understands the relationship between quality outcomes CQC ratings and revenue
Experience preparing and presenting operational and quality reports to senior leaders or boards
Able to work collaboratively with sales account management and partnerships teams
Desirable Requirements
Experience in a VC-backed or rapidly scaling care business
Involvement in M&A integration or multi-brand operational management
People & Leadership
Essential Requirements
Proven ability to lead supervise and develop a clinical and care team
Strong coaching instinct: able to raise standards through direct feedback and continuous improvement
Skilled at managing performance absence and disciplinary matters sensitively and compliantly
Experience recruiting and inducting carers in line with Regulation 19 (Fit and Proper Persons) and Schedule 3
Desirable Requirements
Train the trainer qualification
Experience building a learning culture within a care team
Technology & Systems
Essential Requirements
Comfortable using digital care management systems (e.g. PASS care planning platforms)
Able to maintain accurate audit-ready records and oversee team compliance with documentation standards
Confident using data to monitor quality including audits incident tracking and outcome measures
Desirable Requirements
Experience with AI-assisted care tools or digital health platforms
Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. HubSpot) for client journey tracking
