Maintenance Apprentice

Location: Royston - UK

The position is a site-based role

At Johnson Matthey your work will matter. As a Maintenance Apprentice in Noble Metals youll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry youll help tackle the worlds biggest challenges - cutting emissions powering modern life and supporting lifesaving technologies - by applying refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier more sustainable circular future.

The role:

As a Maintenance Apprentice you will help drive our goals by:

• Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers to maintain and repair plant and equipment
• Learning how mechanical and electrical systems operate within a manufacturing environment
• Supporting planned maintenance activities and responding to equipment issues safely
• Developing practical engineering skills through hands-on work and formal training
• Following site safety quality and security procedures at all times

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• A practical hands-on approach and interest in how things work
• A logical mindset with willingness to learn new technical skills
• Basic GCSE-level knowledge in Mathematics Science and English
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to completing an engineering apprenticeship framework
