We are hiring for our client a well-established engineering business delivering innovative electrical solutions across the power water and wastewater sectors. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline they are seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear) to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Switchgear) to play a key role in the delivery of complex electrical projects from concept through to commissioning. The successful candidate will lead the design of MCC and switchgear systems working closely with clients contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

The Role
Support the full project lifecycle from specification and design through to installation and commissioning
Design MCC and switchgear electrical system architecture
Specify electrical equipment including motors MCCs instrumentation and PLCs
Produce electrical schematics installation drawings and equipment schedules
Deliver electrical designs in line with client specifications and industry standards
Liaise with clients contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Ensure compliance with quality environmental and health & safety standards
Contribute to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget
The Person
Qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
Experience using AutoCAD EPLAN or similar design software
Previous electrical design experience
Strong understanding of MCC and switchgear systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Water industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
