About the Role
As a Health and Security Assistant you will support the effective day-to-day operation of the hospital through a diverse range of duties including:
- Assisting with patient care and transfers
- Transporting patients to wards theatre and imaging
- Cleaning and maintaining hospital areas to infection control standards
- Responding to security situations and ensuring a safe environment
- Supporting staff patients and visitors with professionalism and care
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team and can adapt quickly in a busy healthcare environment.

Essential Requirements
- Current Class 1A Security Licence under the Security Industry Act 1997
- Ability to work shift work
Previous experience in a health security or support services environment is highly regarded but not essential.

Gloucester Soldiers Memorial Hospital is part of the Lower Mid North Coast Sector within Hunter New England Local Health District. The hospital provides acute healthcare services to the local community and includes:
- 14 acute care beds within Roma Ward
- Emergency Department
- Day Stay Unit
- Operating Theatre
- Community Health Centre
The multidisciplinary team includes Registered Nurses Enrolled Nurses Assistants in Nursing General Practitioners Visiting Medical Officers and Allied Health professionals all working together to deliver quality patient care.
