Permanent Full Time

55000 - 60000 plus Company Car and Excellent Benefits Package

We are working with a highly reputable and well-known M&E contractor who deliver complex electrical and mechanical projects across the commercial industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Due to continued growth and a significant project win they are looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee the delivery of electrical and M&E projects across Scotland initially supporting works on a Substation project with further projects secured thereafter.

This is a hybrid position ideally suited to someone based around Hamilton and the surrounding area. The role will involve a combination of home working office attendance and regular site visits. Travel and accommodation expenses are paid where overnight stays are required.

The Role

As Electrical Project Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of electrical and M&E projects from initial survey through to completion and handover ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and within budget.

Projects will include work on industrial and construction environments including substations electrical infrastructure M&E installations refurbishment schemes asset replacement projects and low-fit-out works.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the delivery of electrical and M&E projects throughout Scotland.
  • Leading and coordinating site teams electrical engineers subcontractors and specialist trades.
  • Overseeing works on a Substation project and future infrastructure projects.
  • Undertaking site surveys and preparing project quotations in line with company procedures.
  • Managing project programmes labour allocation procurement and resource planning.
  • Ensuring all projects are delivered within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Producing and managing HSE documentation including RAMS construction phase plans and project files.
  • Liaising with clients consultants subcontractors and internal stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Monitoring project costs and working closely with Quantity Surveyors to control expenditure and variations.
  • Managing plant materials and subcontractor performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with all health safety environmental and quality procedures.
  • Attending pre-start meetings progress meetings technical reviews and project handovers.
  • Producing O&M manuals and project handover documentation.
  • Driving snag-free project completion and ensuring any defects are rectified promptly.
  • Supporting mentoring and developing direct reports and site teams.
  • Monitoring vehicle equipment and resource utilisation to maximise efficiency.

The Person

We are looking for an electrically biased Project Manager with strong experience delivering projects within construction industrial M&E or infrastructure environments.

You will have:

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in an Electrical Project Management position.
  • Experience delivering projects within construction industrial sites substations infrastructure M&E installations or major fit-out environments.
  • Strong electrical technical knowledge and project delivery experience.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders subcontractors and project teams.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and budget management skills.
  • Strong communication leadership and organisational abilities.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds 2330 or equivalent Electrical Installation qualification.
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable).
  • SMSTS (preferred).
  • ECS/Skill Card Project Manager (preferred).
