Highland Fuels is an independent employee-driven energy supplier founded in Inverness in 1957 providing fuel heating oil and lubricants across Scotland and beyond. With 11 depots and a fleet of over 45 tankers they serve domestic commercial agricultural and marine sectors.

About the role:

We currently have a full-time opportunity for an apprentice to join our busy team in Inverness. This is an ideal entry-level role for someone looking to start a career in accounts/financefull training and support will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a super user on our CDS system CODAS where you will monitor tickets coming into the credit held holding page. You will analyse the incoming tickets and create update and maintain customer accounts
  • Acting as first response to incoming queries into the credit control inbox via Microsoft Outlook triaging and escalating when necessary
  • Speaking with customers in a friendly and professional way including when accounts are overdue or at/over their credit limit
  • Downloading credit applications and downloading these to Adobe PDFs before uploading to CODAS
  • Create payment plans for customers and run weekly reports to Microsoft Excel to check accounts and direct debits are up to date
  • Create and format documents on Microsoft Word
  • Monitoring stock levels and reordering essential supplies as required

Required skills:

  • Calm organised and willing to learn
  • Interest in working with numbers and finance
  • Good keyboard skills and be comfortable using computer systems
  • Be able to prioritise tasks during busy work periods
  • Friendly confident telephone manner

Salary: 24350 per annum

Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
