Contract:Initially a Fixed term contract for36months to cover the lifetime of the apprenticeship. On successfully passing your apprenticeship qualification we are committed to offering a suitable permanent position.
Working hours:35 hours per week is full an apprentice you will be spending 20% of your time on off-the job learning which includes attending lectures/tutorials with your training provider.

About Us:
The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent not-for-profit organisation that plays a vital role in UK financial services. Every day we help resolve disputes between consumers or small businesses and their financial service providers.
By joining us as an apprentice you will be working towardsData ScienceDegree Apprenticeship. This apprenticeship will provide you with a range ofskills from problem structuring through coding analyticsmodellingand statistics todisseminatingand will gain real world experience of influencing decisions inan impactful way to drive service improvements for consumer and financial services providers business. This apprenticeship will give you the academic knowledge and practical experience ofdata science and itsapplication.
WhatYoullDo:
- Through your apprenticeship you will work with your line manager to agree and deliver against clear personalobjectives with support from a dedicated mentor within the will help the Financial Ombudsman to deliver a fair and efficient service which reflects the diversity of our customers and our accountabilities could include:
- Building your understanding of our organisation alongside yourproficiencyin and understanding of data science.
- Working on projects with support and guidance from other colleagues within the analysis and insight will include areas such asidentifyingnew operational or strategic insights using advanced statistical analysis dataminingand data visualisation techniques.
- We will also build your ability to ensure your analytics - and the data and research it is based on - is quality assured documented and fit-for-purpose.
- As required providing analytical and insight support or advice to projects across the will be supported by more experiencedcolleagues butequally begin to work with more independence over time as you build the relevant technical capability.
To be considered for this roleyoullneed to show us thatyouvegot the skills and to meet the followingminimumcriteria:
MinimumCriteria
- 104 UCAS points and GCSE English and maths (grade C or above) or
A recognised and equivalent qualification (examinations and relevant experience will be considered) orCompletion of a level 3 apprenticeship/professional qualification in a relevant discipline - On enrolment onto the apprenticeship (September 2026) you will not be in full-timeeducationorreceiving of funding for other learning programmes.
- You will need a full UK Right to Work for the duration oftheapprenticeship and have valid and eligible residency status and bearesident in the UK for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship
