Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Officer - Compliance to support the management of statutory testing asbestos compliance and building safety across local authority-owned buildings. The role involves overseeing compliance surveys managing remedial works supervising contractors and ensuring buildings remain fully compliant with health safety and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manage statutory testing programmes across authority-owned buildings
Coordinate compliance surveys including asbestos re-inspections mansafe systems safety glazing roller shutters and automatic doors
Oversee remedial works arising from statutory inspections and compliance reports
Support asbestos management activities including removal and encapsulation works
Obtain quotations raise purchase orders and manage contractor performance
Review and authorise risk assessments and method statements
Qualifications:
HNC / HND in Construction Building Surveying Building Assets or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Asbestos P402 / P405 qualification desirable but not essential
Essential Requirements:
HNC / HND qualification or equivalent experience within Construction or Building Assets
Experience within building compliance construction building surveying or asbestos management
Experience managing statutory testing within commercial or public buildings
Strong understanding of Health & Safety and building regulations
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
