About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda Kenya Tanzania Rwanda and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client SINOPEC we are looking for a competent skilled and experienced Coating and painting Inspector to work at Site in Uganda

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

Assist in compiling of company Quality Plan Inspection and test Plan (ITP) and Quality Procedures and all pertained QA/QC documentation before commencement of any fabrication/construction work.

Witness and monitor site coating activities inspection and testing following the approved Quality Plan ITP Quality Procedures etc.

Review the approved procedure.

Record & and report all inspection requirements as per ITP.

Responsible for yard and field ongoing activities for coating inspection.

Ensuring the correct and valid calibration status of the inspection equipment.

Raise RFIs to client inspection department through project management.

Witness & Inspection for Field Joint Coating.

Physical examination of the surface to be insulated is clean dry and free from other foreign matters.

Verify that no welding is to be carried out all welding work required has been finished already.

Verify no further painting touch up is required.

Physical examination for that material applied is the same as per the specification.

Check for uniformity of insulation surface no gaps or voids and check for thickness.

Verify the distance between the bands & and check moisture protection at the location where moisture could enter the insulation.

Check the joints of insulation segments are properly staggered and tight.

Verify that the insulation is dry and ready for weatherproofing.

Witness & and inspect all Blasting Painting and insulation activities for the Structures Equipment Piping and tanks.

Inspect with a third party and vendor inspection for onward submission to the client.

Preparation of project documentation Co-ordination for internal auditing





Required Qualifications & Experience

Academic Qualifications

Bachelors degrees in electrical/Instrument/Telecoms engineering or Trained qualifications (Certified Coating and Piping inspector - CSWIP-BGAS Level 1 NACE Level 3 FROSIO Level 3 AMPP CIP Level 3 or equivalent and insulation AMPP Level 2 I Corr level 3 or equivalent).

Required experience

Minimum of 10 years experience in the Oil and Gas industry specifically large construction projects with thorough knowledge of various safety regulations standards procedures

Skills

Good knowledge of codes and standards related to the Instrumentation discipline.

Recognized level of expertise in construction discipline with a good knowledge of TOTAL E&P general specifications/Contractors in oil and gas construction projects.

The ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes Standards as well as best Industry Practices.

A good awareness of other disciplines. Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.

Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office. English mandatory

Required Skills:

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Professional experience: Bachelors degree in Social Sciences/Humanities Business Administration or any other related discipline. A related Masters degree will be an added advantage. Minimum 08 (eight) years of relevant professional experience in extractive industries including considerable experience in developing economies and international organizations. Good track record of working experience with lender financed projects including IFC & Equator Principles IV East Africa experience required Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and in a multi-cultural business setting. Experience and ability to effectively lead a team (mentoring delegation and motivation techniques); Analytical and stakeholder engagement skills. Technical competencies: Knowledge of CSO/NGO engagement human rights and legal and PIIM. Knowledge of International Human Rights Standards especially the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights the UN Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights and IFC Performance Standards. Behavioral competencies: Ability to work in a multi-cultural business setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
