Job Summary

Role Overview

The HR Officer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day human resource operations of the hospital. This role requires a proactive individual with a sound understanding of HR practices within the healthcare sector.

Key Resposibilities

Manage end-to-end recruitment processes including job advertising screening interviewing and onboarding of new staff.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases in compliance with data protection requirements.

Administer staff contracts leave management and attendance tracking systems.

Support the implementation of HR policies procedures and best practices.

Coordinate staff performance appraisal processes and training & development programs.

Handle employee relations matters including grievances disciplinary proceedings and conflict resolution.

Ensure compliance with Uganda labour laws and hospital HR regulatory requirements.

Prepare HR reports and analytics for management decision-making.

Liaise with department heads on staffing needs and workforce planning.





Requirements
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration or a related field.

Minimum of 23 years of HR experience preferably in a healthcare or large institutional setting.

Membership with the Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) is an added advantage.

Proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong interpersonal communication and organisational skills.

High level of integrity confidentiality and professionalism.
