THE ROLE
The Legal Risk & Compliance Lead is a strategic leadership position at the core of Vneurons governance. You drive the companys legal and compliance strategy guide high-stakes regulatory decisions and represent Vneuron with authorities clients and partners. This role requires a dual posture: architect of internal compliance and operational legal counsel within a fast-growing international RegTech environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Compliance & Risk Strategy
Define and drive the group-wide compliance strategy
Identify assess and arbitrate high-impact compliance risks
Oversee the risk map and ensure its continuous update
Design and evolve compliance tools internal controls and policies
- Lead national and international regulatory monitoring; anticipate impacts and propose adaptation plans
- Manage relationships with regulatory authorities as the companys primary contact
- Establish and promote a strong ethical culture within Vneuron
2. Reporting Governance & Committees
- Build and lead compliance and risk reporting for internal governance (Executive Committee governance bodies)
- Lead periodic internal and client-facing compliance reports
- Chair or co-lead governance risk and compliance committees
- Ensure traceability and documentation of compliance activities
3. Legal Contractual & Advisory
- Secure the legal and compliance workstream in tenders: review of RFPs and RFIs completion of client and prospect compliance and security questionnaires qualification of requested commitments and contractual Go/No-Go arbitration
- Lead drafting review and negotiation of strategic contracts (sales partnerships SaaS)
- Oversee contractual obligations and sensitive client relationship management
- Act as the go-to legal counsel for all departments (product sales technical finance)
- Drive Vneurons compliance with its own regulatory obligations: GDPR and data protection ICT third-party service provider obligations under DORA AI system provider obligations under the AI Act and information security
4. Leadership & Function Building
- Contribute to the structuring and development of the compliance/legal function in line with company growth
- Work closely with the Executive Committee on regulatory matters
Education
- Masters degree in Law
- A dual legal and technical/financial/risk management background is a strong asset
Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in business law contract law or compliance gained in-house in private practice or in software publishing
- Significant exposure to multi-jurisdictional environments (Europe Africa MENA)
- Proven experience managing regulatory authorities and institutional clients
- Experience conducting complex contractual negotiations
Skills & Qualities
- Working command of the frameworks applicable to a software vendor serving financial institutions: GDPR DORA as an ICT third-party service provider the AI Act as an AI system provider and information security standards such as ISO 27001
- Sound understanding of the AML/CFT and sanctions environment our clients operate in; hands-on AML/CFT subject-matter expertise is not expected for this role
- Strategic thinking ability to synthesize and decision-making under pressure
- Excellent communicator able to simplify complex topics for varied audiences
- Rigorous autonomous and discreet in handling sensitive matters
- Comfortable with AI tools and RegTech technologies for monitoring and documentation
- French/English bilingualism required; Arabic or a third language is a plus
