ABOUT THE ROLE SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER (G3)

The Senior Finance Officer is the lead finance role within the Corporate Services Division. This position oversees financial accounting budgeting donor compliance financial reporting and audit preparation. The role ensures strong financial controls transparent processes and highquality financial stewardship across the organisation.

The Senior Finance Officer supervises the Finance Officer and Finance Clerk builds capability within the unit and ensures all financial systems and documentation meet organisational donor and audit requirements.

This is a leadership role requiring strong judgement integrity and the ability to operate confidently in a complex multidonor environment.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Finance Officer leads the Finance Unit ensuring strong financial systems accurate reporting and compliance with organisational and donor requirements. The role oversees accounting budgeting reconciliations donor reporting and audit preparation.

The Senior Finance Officer ensures financial integrity strengthens financial controls and supports organisational decisionmaking through highquality financial analysis and reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Leadership

  • Lead the Finance Unit and supervise finance staff
  • Strengthen financial systems controls and documentation
  • Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial planning

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee accounting processes and financial reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Ensure donorcompliant financial documentation and reporting

Audit & Compliance

  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Maintain auditready documentation and registers
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and donor requirements

Risk & Quality

  • Identify financial risks and strengthen controls
  • Ensure accuracy transparency and integrity in financial processes
  • Support continuous improvement across the Finance Unit

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Masters degree in Finance Accounting Business or related field
  • CPA/CA/ACCA preferred
  • 10 years finance experience
  • 3 years seniorlevel leadership experience
  • Experience in donorfunded financial management highly desirable

Requirements

Senior roles will participate in an extended selection process designed to ensure fairness transparency and confidence in the final appointment. These roles carry leadership responsibility and the process reflects the level of accountability required.

Phase 1 Application Review

After applications close all submissions will be reviewed in partnership with CocoNew The Agency . All candidate applications will be presented to the client for consideration.

Phase 2 Behavioural & CompetencyBased Interview

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a behavioural competencybased interview with CocoNew. Interviews may be held in person or via video conference depending on location. Candidates will also complete a registration form to support early due diligence.

Phase 3 Panel Presentation

Successful candidates will present to a Panel during the week commencing 24th August. Candidates will receive full guidance on presentation topics expectations panel members scheduling and venue details.

Phase 4 Final Panel Interview

Candidates progressing to the final stage will attend a panel interview during the week commencing 1st September. Candidates will be kept informed throughout and will receive feedback once a preferred candidate is identified.

Phase 5 Due Diligence & Conditional Offer

Once a preferred candidate is selected standard due diligence checks will be completed including Police clearance qualification verification credit checks antimoney laundering checks social media screening and verbal reference checks (23 referees).

No referees will be contacted without consent.

A conditional offer may be made prior to reference checks subject to satisfactory completion of all required checks.
