The Montana Department of Labor & Industry wants to help both employees and employers to be happy on the job. We take seriously our mission to promote and protect the well-being of Montana's workers, employers and citizens, and to uphold their rights and responsibilities. Our agency strives to create a healthy work environment and protect the rights of citizens who are part of the state's workforce. Through its five divisions, the department offers a wide range of services, including regulation of the state's workers' compensation system, enforcement of Montana's labor standards, licensing for professionals, and support for job seekers. The department, which has an annual budget of more than $70 million, also provides educational programs for understanding labor laws, as well as health and safety issues.
