Job Summary
- Maintain and oversee the General Ledger ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare monthly management accounts balance sheet reconciliations and assist in the preparation of annual financial statements.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring financial records and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies financial procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Review daily cash reconciliations monitor cash collections and deposits and oversee bank reconciliations.
- Assist in cash flow monitoring forecasting and the implementation of effective cash management controls.
- Monitor outstanding accounts receivable follow up on sponsorship event and corporate customer receivables and prepare debtor aging reports.
- Support debt collection initiatives to improve receivable performance and cash flow.
- Supervise supplier account reconciliations review payment schedules verify supplier balances and ensure supporting documentation is complete before processing payments.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting financial analysis and departmental performance reporting.
- Monitor compliance with statutory tax and regulatory obligations while supporting the preparation of management and Board reports.
- Lead mentor and supervise the Payables Accountant and Cashiers ensuring adherence to finance procedures and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes strengthen internal controls and enhance operational efficiency within the Finance Department.
- Provide timely financial information and recommendations to support business decision-making and organizational objectives.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- CPA (T) ACCA CIMA or an equivalent professional accounting qualification will be highly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant accounting experience preferably in a senior accounting position.
- Previous experience supervising finance or accounting staff is preferred.
- Experience within the hospitality retail entertainment or service industry will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting general ledger management reconciliations budgeting and financial controls.
- Experience supporting audits and ensuring compliance with statutory and tax requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and financial reporting skills.
- Excellent leadership communication organizational and time management skills.
- High level of integrity professionalism and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
