Job Summary
On behalf of our client we are seeking a practical and results-oriented Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability safety and efficient performance of manufacturing equipment utilities and supporting infrastructure.
The successful candidate will coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshoot equipment failures supervise technicians and support initiatives that reduce downtime and improve production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Inspect maintain troubleshoot and repair production machinery and utility systems.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures and minimise production downtime.
- Conduct root-cause analyses for recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements replacements or upgrades.
- Coordinate equipment installation testing commissioning and modification projects.
- Supervise maintenance technicians contractors and specialist service providers.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records equipment histories and spare-parts registers.
- Determine critical spare-parts requirements and support their timely procurement.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with health safety food-safety and environmental standards.
- Support production planning by communicating equipment availability and maintenance requirements.
- Monitor maintenance expenditure and contribute to annual budgeting.
- Develop safe work procedures maintenance checklists and technical documentation.
- Train operators on appropriate equipment use and basic maintenance practices.
- Support continuous-improvement energy-efficiency and waste-reduction initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Electromechanical Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Registration with an appropriate professional engineering body will be an added advantage.
- Additional training in maintenance management automation refrigeration or industrial safety is desirable.
- At least five years of maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or processing environment.
- Practical experience maintaining production machinery electrical systems utilities and automated equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance planning and computerised maintenance-management systems.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings equipment manuals and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting root-cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience supervising technicians and external contractors.
- Willingness to work outside standard hours when responding to critical equipment failures.
