The Role Humanities Teacher

The Humanities Teacher will deliver engaging and academically challenging lessons across subjects such as History Geography and Global Studies within the lower secondary school. The role requires a strong commitment to inquiry-based learning critical thinking and helping students understand the relationships between people places cultures and environments.

• Planning and teaching well-structured humanities lessons that promote curiosity analysis and an understanding of both historical and geographical concepts.
• Developing students skills in research debate interpretation of sources mapwork fieldwork and analytical writing ensuring they can think critically and express ideas with clarity.
• Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment where students feel confident to ask questions participate in discussions and explore complex human and environmental issues.
• Differentiating instruction to ensure students of varying abilities and backgrounds are supported challenged and able to achieve strong progress.
• Integrating real-world events case studies and contemporary issues into lessons to help students develop global awareness and informed perspectives.
• Assessing student learning accurately and consistently and sharing clear constructive feedback with students and parents.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the humanities and wider school to support curriculum development cross-curricular projects and enrichment activities.
• Contributing to wider school life by supporting extracurricular programmes such as geography clubs history exhibitions community projects or field trips.
• Engaging in professional development to maintain strong subject knowledge and innovative teaching practices within humanities education.

• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE QTS or equivalent
• Minimum of three years relevant teaching experience..
• Experience with IPC/IMYC or the British curriculum is an advantage.
• Native or fluent English speaker.
• Creative organised and enthusiastic about inquiry-based and hands-on learning.
