Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Executive Chef to join an exclusive luxury safari tented camp in Tanzania.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate culinary professional with a strong luxury hospitality background to lead a kitchen operation in a unique safari environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptional culinary standards developing innovative menus and leading the kitchen team to deliver memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all kitchen operations to ensure consistently high culinary standards.
  
• Develop creative seasonal and diverse menus suited to an international luxury safari clientele.
  
• Ensure exceptional quality presentation taste and consistency across all meals.
  
• Manage train and mentor the kitchen team fostering a professional and positive working environment.
  
• Ensure all food preparation and service meet luxury hospitality standards.
  
• Cater for special dietary requirements allergies and individual guest preferences.
  
• Manage food ordering stock levels portion control and minimise wastage.
  
• Monitor food costs and maintain effective kitchen cost controls.
  
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety hygiene and sanitation standards.
  
• Work closely with lodge management and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless meal service.
  
• Maintain high standards of kitchen organisation cleanliness and efficiency.
  
• Manage kitchen administration including menu planning stock control and ordering.
  
• Ensure the kitchen team operates efficiently within the requirements of a remote safari environment.
  
• Remain hands-on and actively involved in food preparation and service when required.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef Head Chef or equivalent senior culinary position.
  
• Strong experience within luxury hotels lodges safari camps or high-end hospitality environments.
  
• Excellent culinary skills with a passion for quality and innovation.
  
• Strong menu development and food-costing experience.
  
• Experience managing and developing a professional kitchen team.
  
• Excellent understanding of international cuisine and luxury guest expectations.
  
• Strong knowledge of food safety hygiene and kitchen health standards.
  
• Experience catering for special dietary requirements and allergies.
  
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a remote safari environment.
  
• A professional hands-on and adaptable approach.
