Assistant General Manager

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a polished proactive and guest-focused Assistant General Manager to join a luxury safari camp in Tanzania. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who can support the General Manager maintain exceptional operational standards and ensure guests receive a seamless personalised experience.

Working alongside an established management team with extensive brand experience the successful candidate must be confident detail-oriented and capable of taking ownership of daily operations with minimal supervision. A hands-on approach and a strong understanding of luxury lodge hospitality are essential.

• Support the General Manager with the daily running of the camp ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  

• Maintain exceptional guest service standards anticipating guest needs and ensuring personalised experiences.
  

• Conduct regular operational checks to ensure all departments consistently meet luxury hospitality standards.
  

• Work closely with front-of-house housekeeping food and beverage and kitchen teams to maintain seamless service delivery.
  

• Assist with staff supervision training performance management and team development.
  

• Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally.
  

• Ensure attention to detail across all guest-facing areas and operational procedures.
  

• Support administrative duties reporting scheduling and general management responsibilities.
  

• Identify operational challenges proactively and implement practical solutions.
  

• Build strong working relationships with colleagues and management to foster a positive and professional environment.
  

• Previous experience in an Assistant General Manager Lodge Manager Assistant Lodge Manager or senior hospitality management role.
  

• Experience within a luxury safari lodge boutique hotel or high-end hospitality property.
  

• Exceptional guest relations and hosting skills with a genuine passion for personalised service.
  

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistently high standards.
  

• Excellent leadership communication and organisational abilities.
  

• A proactive hands-on approach with the confidence to make decisions independently.
  

• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while remaining calm and professional under pressure.
  

• Strong administrative and operational skills.
  

• A polished professional demeanour and the ability to work effectively within an established management team.
  

• Flexibility to work in a remote safari environment.
