Job Summary

Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented analytical and reliable Accounts Executive to support the organisations financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reconciliations statutory and tax compliance payroll processing audit support internal controls and month-end and year-end closing activities. The role requires a high level of accuracy confidentiality and attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies while ensuring compliance with applicable Tanzanian financial and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily weekly and monthly bank supplier and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Match bank statements with accounting records and verify all recorded payments receipts transfers and other financial transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements accounting records and ledger balances in a timely manner.
  • Track outstanding deposits cheques transfers and other unreconciled items ensuring appropriate follow-up and resolution.
  • Ensure all bank transactions are accurately posted and monitor unidentified deposits and other unmatched transactions.
  • Prepare necessary adjustment entries to correct discrepancies and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
  • Maintain detailed reconciliation schedules supporting documentation and appropriate audit trails for all financial reconciliations.
  • Prepare regular status reports on unreconciled items and follow up to ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns and related documentation including TRA VAT PAYE SDL and WHT within the required deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Tanzanian tax laws regulations and statutory financial requirements.
  • Stay updated on changes in Tanzanian tax legislation and assess their implications for the organisations financial and statutory obligations.
  • Liaise with TRA and other relevant regulatory authorities on tax and statutory matters as required.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide accurate financial records supporting documentation schedules and audit trails when required.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and ensure requested information is provided accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time ensuring all applicable statutory deductions are correctly calculated and accounted for.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure payroll processing complies with applicable labour laws statutory requirements and internal company policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities including reconciliations journal entries supporting schedules and other financial closing requirements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to established internal controls accounting procedures and financial policies.
  • Identify control weaknesses financial discrepancies or unusual transactions and escalate them appropriately for review and corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records and ensure all accounting documentation is properly supported and readily available for audit purposes.
  • Provide accurate financial updates and supporting information to management as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure financial payroll employee and company information is handled securely and professionally.
  • Work collaboratively with finance HR management auditors statutory authorities and other relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth financial and compliance operations.
  • Support the effective administration of accounting tax payroll reconciliation and compliance activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.


  • Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification such as CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.
  • Relevant experience in accounting financial reporting reconciliations taxation payroll or a similar finance role.
  • Practical experience in bank supplier and general ledger reconciliations with the ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of VAT returns WHT PAYE SDL TRA requirements and other applicable Tanzanian statutory compliance obligations.
  • Good understanding of accounting principles financial reporting procedures taxation and applicable financial regulations and standards.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits including preparation of financial documentation schedules and audit trails.
  • Practical knowledge of payroll processing and statutory deductions with the ability to maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy when handling financial records reconciliations payroll and statutory submissions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work confidently with financial data reconciliations schedules and reports.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and effectively use accounting payroll and financial management systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounting compliance and reporting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with finance HR management auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • High level of integrity discretion confidentiality and professionalism when handling financial and employee information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and statutory requirements with the ability to remain updated on relevant regulatory changes.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict financial payroll tax audit and reporting deadlines.

  • Required Skills:

    Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing production quality or engineering environment or strong project-based experience through internships academic projects or personal engineering projects. Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals materials and manufacturing processes. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD Fusion 360 CATIA or similar. Practical exposure to prototyping testing and hands-on engineering work. Strong analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. High learning agility with a curious proactive and growth-oriented mindset. Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work cross-functionally. Well-organized disciplined and able to manage tasks meet deadlines and document work accurately. Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality and continuous improvement. The following will be considered a plus: Exposure to product development projects design competitions or prototype builds. Basic understanding of DFM / DFA principles GD&T and engineering documentation standards. Experience working in factory workshop or production line environments. Strong interest in product innovation and manufacturing excellence.
