Join Wipro Technologies-Taiwan as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Advanced NX Surface Modelling and Product Development Support within the VLSI sector. Role Summary
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be pivotal in conceptualizing and developing high-quality product designs through advanced CAD modelling primarily using Siemens NX and Teamcenter. This role involves advanced surface modelling with a focus on Class-A surfacing techniques for precision enclosure design aimed at injection-moulded plastic components.
You will lead design reviews with manufacturing teams to ensure that all designs are optimized for manufacturability durability and cost-efficiency while meeting international standards and customer requirements particularly IPX7 and above waterproofing standards. Failure analysis and root cause investigations will be core to your responsibilities enabling you to address complex product build issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The role also demands hands-on engagement at manufacturing sites collaborating with tooling manufacturing and quality assurance teams. Your expertise will ensure smooth production builds robust assembly processes and enhanced product reliability aligned with our companys purpose of delivering excellence in technology solutions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with strong foundational knowledge in mechanical design principles.
- Proven experience in Siemens NX CAD software and Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management systems supporting complex product development cycles.
- In-depth understanding and practical expertise in advanced surface modelling and Class-A surfacing particularly for high-end consumer and industrial products.
- Extensive experience designing injection moulded plastic enclosures with comprehensive knowledge of tool design material selection and assembly optimization.
- Demonstrated proficiency with IPX7 product sealing standards and environmental reliability engineering ensuring product performance in harsh conditions.
- Strong grasp of DFM processes geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) tolerance stack-up analyses and supplier manufacturing capabilities.
- Hands-on experience conducting failure analysis root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions to enhance product quality and reduce downtime.
- Capability to provide hands-on support during prototype fabrication and transition to production builds in partnership with manufacturing teams and suppliers.
- Excellent interpersonal skills fostering collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams including design manufacturing quality and supply chain.
Preferred Experience
- Background in consumer electronics medical devices rugged industrial products or similar high-precision sectors.
- Experience liaising with global manufacturing partners and suppliers ensuring adherence to quality and delivery standards.
- Familiarity with tooling development custom fixture design and assembly line optimization to improve build efficiency and product consistency.
