Aeon is redefining preventive healthcare. We combine whole-body MRI advanced blood biomarkers and genetic data with AI to detect and predict diseases before symptoms appear. Our mission is to empower people to live longer healthier lives by shifting healthcare from reactive to proactive.

At the heart of what we build is a long-term preventive health management platform - giving people a clear picture of their health across cardiovascular brain cancer musculoskeletal and metabolic domains and helping them act on it.

About the role

We have a small high-performing engineering team. Were looking for a hands-on technical lead who can own the direction of how we build - someone who codes every day sets standards and drives us forward as software development is fundamentally reshaped by AI.

Tasks

• Own the technical architecture and direction for Aeons platform the patient-facing health platform the medical partner portal and how AI modules integrate.
• Lead the transition to medical SaMD processes together with our regulatory specialist and take ownership of GDPR and similar compliance areas.
• Code daily alongside the team: this is a hands-on role
• Lead code reviews technical decisions and engineering standards
• Drive the teams evolution toward AI-native development - not just using AI tools but fundamentally rethinking how we design build and ship software
• Run sprint rituals: planning standups retrospectives
• Recruit mentor and elevate newly joining team members over the coming years
• Partner closely with the CPTO and Growth team on roadmap and architecture trade-offs

Requirements

Must-haves

• Strong engineering background with genuine technical depth. Years of experience matter less than the quality of your thinking and your output
• An AI-native development mindset: you have already fundamentally changed how you code because of AI and you are eager to push the whole team in that direction
• Natural technical authority. People follow your lead not because of your title but because you are consistently sharp and direct
• Startup instinct: comfortable with ambiguity fast iteration and wearing more than one hat
• Experience leading a small engineering team
• Clean pragmatic engineering philosophy: you ship you do not over-engineer
• Intellectual honesty: you say what you think including when you disagree with leadership
• For applicants who want to work at our Zurich office: Swiss work permit or Swiss/EU/EFTA citizenship is a must
• For applicants who want to work at our London office: Right to work in the UK required or eligibility for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Nuxt Vue Tailwind Python PostgreSQL AWS
• Experience building or shipping Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) in a regulated environment
