We are looking for a Public Affairs & Policy Lead Alps who is eager to join our Health System Policy & Public Affairs department and the leadership team for the Alps cluster based in our manufacturing site in Bulle Switzerland.

About the role

As the Public Affairs & Policy Lead Alps you are a member of the Alps leadership team and you are responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive policy and engagement strategy to shape policy legislative and regulatory environments across UCB Alps markets with a focus on Switzerland.

This role provides strategic direction and supports local affiliates and teams in advancing policy priorities at the market level. Responsibilities include developing a Swiss policy strategy engagement planning coalition building and enabling health system changes to improve patient outcomes health equity patient access and sustainable access solutions.

The role also ensures that UCB is positioned as a trusted and preferred partner within the external ecosystem.

This role reports to the Alps General Manager.

The position is hybrid with the main office in Bulle Switzerland.

Regular business travel across Switzerland is expected.

What youll do

  • Define build and execute policy strategies to shape public policy legislative and regulatory environments related to UCBs portfolio focusing on value creation throughout the patient journey and aligning with short- and long-term business goals.
  • Build and strengthen strategic alliances with relevant patient advocacy groups and political organizations.
  • Develop communication plans to support local corporate and policy affairs strategies.
  • Provide clear and insightful environmental analysis by monitoring legislative health trends evaluating policy implications and assessing the broader political landscape.
  • Contribute to strengthening UCBs position within pharmaceutical industry associations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate disease-area health system policies that may impact patient access.
  • Develop engagement plans to shape or inform future policies and create contingency plans to address potential policy impacts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and identify partnership opportunities to improve patient access and advance supportive health policies.
  • Promote effective collaboration across cantonal and national levels strengthening the UCB Policy & Public Affairs community to enable local execution.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leadership and local teams by providing updates assessing risks and highlighting required actions to ensure transparency and alignment across workstreams.
  • Represent UCB in speaking engagements at policy events panels congresses and industry associations.
