Post-Doctoral Scientist Emerging Technologies (Biologics Continuous Drug Product Manufacturing)

Location: Schaffhausen Switzerland

Join MSAT Emerging Technologiesand help redefine howbiologicsdrug products are manufactured.In this role you will develop and experimentally validate continuousmanufacturingconcepts in partnership with our R&D colleagues enabling next-generation integrated and data-driven manufacturing.

You will work at the interface ofdrug product R&D process engineering and advanced analytics contributing to Johnson & Johnsons strategic priorities inProcess Intensification (PI)andIntegrated Quality & Real-Time Release (IQRTR).

Your impact:

Scientificlead and executionofhands-on laboratory workto design build and test continuous drug product manufacturing concepts for biologics.

Keyresponsibilitiesinclude:

  • Design and runlab-scale experimentsto develop continuousmanufacturingprocesses;

  • Generate and analyze data oncritical quality attributes (CQAs)and process performance;

  • Implement and evaluateProcess Analytical Technology (PAT)for real-time monitoring and control;

  • Advanceprocess understandingusing data-driven (DOE chemometrics) or mechanistic approaches;

  • Translate lab findings intoproof-of-principle (PoP)andproof-of-concept (PoC)packages;

  • Partner with R&D MSAT Quality and Digital teams to advance technologies towardGMP readinessand shapetechnology and control strategies;

  • Contribute tointellectual property generation including potential patents and publications as well as documentation standards and innovation strategy.

This role combinesscientificleadershipwith experimental execution enabling you to turn concepts into scalable solutions.

Whatyoubring:

  • PhD in Bioengineering Chemical Engineering Pharmaceutical Sciences Biotechnology or related field (02 years post-PhD preferred);

  • Stronghands-on lab experiencein biopharmaceutical development analytical sciences or related technologies;

  • Experience in one or more of the following:

  • Biologics drug product development or formulation;

  • Continuous manufacturing or process intensification;

  • Process Analytical Technology (PAT) or analytical development;

  • Process engineeringand control;

  • Proven ability to design experiments andtranslate data into insightswith the ability to communicate complex scientific topics clearly to diverse audiences including senior leadership.

Nicetohave:

  • Experience withcontinuous compounding / mixing concepts/ aseptic manufacturingfor biologics;

  • Familiarity withPAT tools sensors and real-time data analysis;

  • Knowledge ofGMP environments and scale-up principles;

  • Programming or data analysis skills (Python MATLAB R).
