The Position

We are looking for a Physical Operator Fuel & Feedstock to support our Fuel Oil and Feedstock trading activities and provide holiday cover for crude operations. The role sits within our Trading team in Baar which manages crude fuel oil and feedstock flows linked to our refineries and our assets.

You will work closely with Traders and Commercial Analysts on a daily basis and play a key role in ensuring our physical operations are executed reliably and accurately.

This role is based in Central Switzerland and office based.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily voyage operations liaising with VAROPreem traders loading and discharge terminals inspectors rail/pipe operators where applicable and commercial counterparts to ensure timely and accurate execution of commercial commitments;

  • Identify optimization opportunities around operational matters (timing blending cost savings) as well as potential risks and develop mitigation strategies;

  • Ensure systems are kept up to date so that inventories are properly controlled and hedging requirements executed and payment obligations are executed accurately;

  • Coordinate with Treasury and Credit teams to ensure Letters of Credit are in place and that sales are not subject to financial holds;

  • Work with the refining team to ensure refinery scheduling requirements are reflected in operational plans;

  • At month-end ensure activities are accurately reflected in reporting cost provisions are updated and system data aligns with inventory reports from terminals and pipelines.

Your Profile
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree or an equivalent occupational diploma;

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in oil trading operations within an international trading environment;

  • Experience with fuel and feedstock quality specifications as well as blending activities is considered a strong advantage;

  • You are fluent in English. Knowledge of additional languages particularly Swedish German or French is a plus;

  • You have a strong eye for detail and consistently deliver accurate high-quality work;

  • You are proactive responsive and reliable with a hands-on approach to your responsibilities;

  • You communicate clearly and effectively and enjoy solving complex challenges with a practical and creative mindset;

  • You perform well under pressure and are able to prioritize effectively in a dynamic trading environment.
