Junior Legal Counsel Commodity Trading

Job Summary
- Support the General Counsel and legal team with the preparation review and negotiation of trading documentation for LNG Power and Gas transactions
- Provide clear and practical legal support to the trading business on day-to-day commercial transactions
- Draft review and negotiate a range of energy trading agreements including sale and purchase agreements transportation agreements and other commercial contracts
- Assist the legal team in advising on the structuring and execution of LNG Power and Gas transactions
- Work closely with Trading Operations Compliance Risk and other internal teams to understand business needs and provide practical legal solutions
- Assist with identifying and assessing regulatory requirements relevant to LNG Power and Gas activities including licensing and reporting obligations and help ensure the company remains compliant
Qualifications :
- 25 years of experience in an in-house legal role or at an international law firm ideally with exposure to LNG Power Gas or broader energy trading
- Good foundation in legal drafting and contract negotiation with an interest in developing expertise in energy marketing and trading agreements both physical and financial
- Initial practical exposure to LNG or Natural Gas trading agreements is a strong advantage
- Good understanding of energy markets and an interest in commodity trading and related financial instruments
- Familiarity with EU commodity markets exchanges and commodity derivatives is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. German French or an Eastern European language is an advantage
- A proactive curious and collaborative mindset with the motivation to learn and develop within a fast-paced energy trading environment
