The Position
Integrated Strategy Leads serve as strategic leaders in the matrix for one or more Therapeutic Areas (TA) and are function agnostic. A Therapeutic area includes one or more Disease Areas (DA). The x-functional unit to build a DA is called Squad Team. The ISL can delegate the role of a Squad Lead for a specific DA to a senior team member.
ISLs are accountable for P&L in their TA including resource allocation (FTE & PMMC) based on the portfolio prioritisation. They are driving and delivering the strategic priorities in their TA based on global strategy and the local patient and customer journey. ISLs inspire to boldly innovate collaborate and create outcomes that matter for patients/customers health system and the company. ISLs enable to plan and orchestrate execution of the work and they strive to build cohesive high-performing teams.
Visionary: Facilitating the creation of a bold shared vision and higher purpose that is co-created with customers to advance a vision. They translate vision into outcomes that matter seeing the broader ecosystem and its rich complexity.

Key Accountabilities
Has end to end accountability and responsibility to deliver TA strategy and purpose of value creation for patients and associated ambition (Impact P&L where applicable vision strategy planning and execution project deliverables).
Ensures purpose and level/type of investment aligns both to defined TA/DA AND portfolio prioritization.
Ensures effective overall prioritisation of all DA priorities in line with organisational resourcing capacity.
Acts as thought partner with broader affiliate (including Cluster Heads/Chapter Heads and Leads) to ensure appropriate resourcing (size and type) for their Therapeutic Area as defined by its purpose and re-prioritising when required in response to resource constraints or higher needs.
Ensures that the Squad teams have the right memberships and capabilities to fulfill the purpose and addresses the requirements to the relevant ChH
Navigates a fit-for-purpose fully empowered squad made of any chapter member (x-functional team) and where diverse disciplines can align and execute in order to pursue affiliate/squad North star ambition (can be delegated to the role of a Squad Lead executed by a senior team member)
Includes customer voice in squads deliveries through co-creation and is expected to be customer facing when required by the squad
Acts as role model and change agent for transformation. Guarantees agile methodologies are practiced and constantly seeks for continuous improvement through team retrospectives
Builds maintains and further develops cohesive high performing squad (x-functional team) as pivotal key to perform at their best against North star ambition.
Provides VACC and creative leadership in setting the vision and strategic ambition for the respective Therapeutic Area.
Provides inspiration coaching and feedback to team members peers and more broadly as required. Report back on progress into the organization to ensure individuals and teams are performing and growing in line with their passion and needs of the Organization.
Inspires and catalyzes experiments; incubates ideas to innovate through learning cycles in order to leverage our portfolio against our North Star and to inform potential future go to market approaches.
Leverages effectively our pharma operating principles values and leadership commitments.
Role models high standards of compliance ethics and safety; puts patients and their needs at the center of all actions by consistent business behavior complying with applicable laws industry codes and Roches Code of Conduct
