Global Workplace and Real Estate is a vital enabling function responsible for shaping and managing the environments where our 50000 colleagues do their best work. Our teams purpose is to help Roche make confident future-ready decisions about space investment and workplace experience balancing business performance sustainability and people needs. As an intern at Global Workplace & Real Estate you will gain a full view of our global function. You will support both horizontal roles and our core capabilities (Real Estate Management Office Workplace Strategy and Fit-Out & Program Management) contributing to data preparation reporting coordination and day-to-day activities across the entire function.
We are looking for an ambitious personality who will have the following main responsibilities:
Collect and consolidate data from a variety of sources (inc. internal systems other teams at Roche) to ensure relevant information is available to the team
Perform data audits and cleansing to improve the quality of the teams different databases (e.g. global portfolio asset database) ensuring they are consistent and accurate
Analyse data (e.g. owned and leased asset data workplace quantitative and qualitative data fit-out cost benchmarking data) to identify key trends and gaps for further review
Visualise meaningful conclusions from data analysis by creating summaries tables and presentation slides based on prepared data
Assist with subteam-specific recurring reporting needs (e.g. lease administration reports) as well as team-wide reporting needs such as performance (KPIs) reports for periodic reviews
Support the administration of teams internal systems (e.g. user management in portfolio asset database and project management platform) and assist in updating and maintaining analytical solutions and visualisations (e.g. dashboards)
Coordinate internal team meetings (incl. helping prepare agendas collect discussion topics) and maintain the teams website which includes collaborating with team members to source and draft project stories for publishing
Act as a connective tissue between sub-teams helping share best practices align data standards and coordinate joint initiatives
For this position you bring the following qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Management Real Estate Facility Management Data Analytics or related field of work (or recently graduated within the past 12 months)
Comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment and switching between different topics and teams
Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working with the ability to help organise and make sense of different types of information
Experience with data handling or analytics (e.g. via coursework internships or project work)
Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written). Additional languages are a plus but not a requirement
Confident in using Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
Experience with coding (e.g. Python JavaScript Google Apps Script) and/or data visualisation (e.g. Tableau Power BI) is a strong plus
This internship is based in Basel Switzerland and work will be conducted on-site.
The position is scheduled to start in August or September with a duration of 12 months.
This is a full-time opportunity; part-time arrangements are not possible.
Writing a thesis during this internship is permitted
