ESG Digitalization Intern – Software & Data Engineering

Support the ESG Controlling Team in Zürich/Altstetten in its digitalization and automation journey building and maintaining applications and data pipelines that drive automated scalable ESG reporting. 

Main Task 

• Software Development: Design build and maintain web applications covering both front-end and back-end development. Understand business needs translate them into technical requirements and contribute to the full software lifecycle from specification through deployment. 

Secondary Task (Nice to have) 

• CI/CD & Infrastructure: Support the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment (e.g. GitHub Actions Terraform). 

• Data Engineering & Analytics: Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows in Databricks to support ESG Reporting use cases including data ingestion transformation and modelling.  

Qualifications :

Must haves 

• Experience with modern web technologies and frameworks ( React) and JavaScript or TypeScript 

• Understanding of databases and SQL 

• Willingness to learn 

• Proactive approach 

• Enjoyment of problem solving  

• Good communication and teamwork skills 

• English language is required German/Spanish is a plus 

Nice to have 

• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g. GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Bicep Terraform).  

• Knowledge of or interest in Databricks data engineering Python and analytics workflows.  

• Knowledge of PowerBI 

• Familiarity with basic API design principles 

• Understanding of data modelling and dbt.
