Backend Developer Intern

ParetoLabs is looking for a motivated and passionate Backend Developer Intern with an interest in DevOps methodologies to join our growing team.

As part of our dynamic team you will contribute to the backend systems that power our AI-driven applications. You will gain hands-on experience in designing developing testing and deploying software solutions for clients across a wide range of industries.

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of modern AI applications including LLM-powered agents and copilots.
• Support the improvement and automation of our build deployment testing and monitoring processes.
• Help design implement and operate reliable production and development environments.
• Collaborate closely with our multicultural team sharing your ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
• Take ownership of defined tasks and bring your own ideas to projects with real-world impact.

• Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in computer science software engineering or a related field.
• Python Development: Practical experience with Python through university personal or professional projects. Familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI Flask or Django is an advantage.
• API Development: Basic experience designing developing testing and documenting REST APIs including authentication error handling and integration with external services.
• Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or a strong interest in learning how backend applications are deployed operated and monitored in the cloud.
• DevOps Fundamentals: Initial experience with Git CI/CD pipelines Docker automated testing and deployment workflows.
• Databases: Basic knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases data modelling and integrating databases into backend applications.
• Technical Foundation: A good understanding of software architecture networking fundamentals application security logging and monitoring.
• Problem-Solving Skills: A curious proactive and solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and take ownership of defined tasks.
• Teamwork: An open-minded team player who enjoys collaborating in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment.
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills in English or German and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and project stakeholders.
