About the role

As a Technical Support Engineer you will work in the division working with high voltage rotating machines ranging from motors and generators to synchronous condensers for some of the worlds most demanding industrial environments. The service organisation in Västerås is responsible for supporting the globally installed base of these machines.

In this role youll be part of the technical support team and work closely with local service units external customers and internal stakeholders ensuring a high level of service and professionalism in every interaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to local service units external customers and internal teams

  • Handle warranty cases for factory products including technical investigations and root cause analysis

  • Manage and follow up on support cases in a shared case management system

  • Ensure cases and projects are handled in a structured professional and high-quality manner

  • Deliver clear and effective communication from both a technical and customer perspective

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Who were looking for

Were looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and communicating clearly with customers. To succeed in this role we believe you have:

  • A vocational education in automation or other related field or a bachelors degree in electrical engineering automation energy systems or a similar field

  • Experience and knowledge of PLC programming ideally function block programming

  • Knowledge of testing and troubleshooting

  • Good communication skills in English as the role involves contact with customers and colleagues globally. Swedish is an advantage but not required

Its an advantage if you have

  • Previous experience in a technical role preferably within testing and troubleshooting of electrical machines and control cabinets

  • Experience with systems such as Salesforce and SAP

Personal qualities

Youre customer-focused and collaborative with a strong service mindset and thrive on handling demanding customer dialogues in a global environment. Youre a natural team player who also takes initiative with strong prioritisation skills and a level head when several cases are running in parallel. Youre curious solution-oriented and genuinely interested in contributing to the teams continuous improvement work.
