Our platform helps energy asset owners integrate assets achieve market readiness maintain operational availability and manage technical requirements across energy markets and grid services.

About the role

As Tech Lead you will own the technical direction and day-to-day engineering of the Evora platform: the cloud backend the operator frontend the EMS edge software that runs at battery sites and the infrastructure that connects them.

You will work close to real assets. The code you write reads Modbus registers from live battery systems runs prequalification tests against the Swedish TSOs technical requirements ingests Nordic and continental market data and dispatches setpoints that a safety envelope on the edge is the last line of defense for.

The position combines hands-on full-stack development system architecture ownership of the edge and integration layer technical leadership of a small team and continuous translation of field experience from live BESS projects into the product.

Key responsibilities

- Own the architecture and technical roadmap of the Evora platform across backend frontend edge and cloud infrastructure.

- Design and build backend services in Python (FastAPI SQLAlchemy asyncpg Alembic) on top of TimescaleDB Redis and MQTT.

- Develop and maintain the EMS edge software: Modbus and vendor-protocol drivers register maps control loops safety envelope and store-and-forward telemetry over AWS IoT Core.

- Build operator-facing product in the and React frontend: fleet monitoring asset and site management the visual workflow builder dashboards and market explorers.

- Own the prequalification engine that drives FCR-N FCR-D FFR aFRR and mFRR test programs validates the response against TSO technical requirements and produces the evidence and

application values.

- Integrate battery management systems power conversion systems meters inverters EV chargers and heat pumps through Modbus vendor cloud APIs and gateway hardware.

- Build and operate the market-data pipelines (ENTSO-E Svenska kraftnät Nord Pool style sources) that feed spot ancillary and forecast views.

- Extend the platforms agent layer: LLM-driven operations assistants morning briefings diagnosis and remediation workflows and the AI workflow builder using Claude on AWS Bedrock.

- Run the AWS infrastructure with Terraform: EC2 IoT Core ECR S3 IAM and the CI/CD pipeline that ships backend images and the Vercel-hosted frontend.

- Keep the full-system test suite (app broker edge database) green and extend it as the control loop grows.

- Support commissioning of live BESS sites together with the operations and prequalification team and investigate communication control-system and data issues in the field.

- Several years of professional experience building and operating backend systems in Python preferably with FastAPI or a similar async framework.

- Strong SQL and PostgreSQL skills and experience with time-series data at scale (TimescaleDB continuous aggregates compression partitioning).

- Experience building modern web frontends with TypeScript and React preferably .

- Experience with industrial or IoT communication: Modbus TCP/RTU MQTT or comparable protocols and with software that runs on edge devices or gateways.

- Experience running software on AWS or a comparable cloud including infrastructure as code (Terraform) containers and CI/CD.

- Ability to read technical documentation device specifications and grid or market requirements and turn them into working tested software.

- Nordic ancillary-service markets and prequalification for FCR aFRR mFRR or FFR.

- Electricity-market data sources such as ENTSO-E Svenska kraftnät or Nord Pool.

- LLM-based applications tool-calling agents or AI-assisted operational tooling.

- Workflow or orchestration engines (Temporal or similar) and event-driven architectures.
