Role Overview
We are looking for a Team Lead to manage our computer processing department. You will guide a team of specialists who inspect test clean used or returned computers while coordinating closely with intake sorting/packing IT and the operations colleagues to keep units moving without bottlenecks. Your goal is to keep the workspace safe efficient cross-functionally aligned and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management: Assign daily tasks based on team capacity and incoming volume track attendance balance workloads across shifts and support specialists with hands-on help when queues back up.
- Cross-Team Coordination: Act as the liaison between processing intake and packing/shipping so units hand off smoothly at each stage; flag volume spikes or slowdowns to adjacent teams before they cause a backlog and coordinate staffing or task reassignment in response.
- Process Oversight: Ensure computers move smoothly from intake to final sorting or packing sequencing work across stations so no single stage becomes a chokepoint.
- Quality Control: Check that unit processing meets security standards and hardware is graded correctly; coordinate with Customer Service/Claims units or compliance contacts when standards or audit requirements change.
- Problem Solving: Fix workflow bottlenecks and troubleshoot broken equipment or software tools coordinating with IT support or maintenance vendors to get downtime resolved quickly.
- Reporting & Communication: Track output numbers report progress and communicate schedule changes staffing gaps or equipment issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely way.
- Schedule Coordination: Run brief daily team huddles to align on priorities coordinate shift handoffs so context isnt lost between outgoing and incoming teams and coordinate coverage for absences or planned time off.
Requirements
- Experience: Working with computer hardware or in an IT warehouse/refurbishment setting establishing a process workflow for used equipment previous experience in mentoring students/apprenticeship in close proximity during their internship period.
- Leadership: Past experience leading a small team shift or project including coordinating work across multiple people or stations at once.
- Coordination Skills: Proven ability to juggle competing priorities coordinate handoffs between teams or shifts and keep multiple people and stakeholders outside the immediate team aligned on shifting daily priorities.
- Tech Skills: Good knowledge of PC and laptop parts BIOS settings and basic diagnostics.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written skills to guide team members coordinate with other departments and report updates to management.
- Organizational Knowledge: Previous knowledge of internal processes and internal workflow including how the processing stage connects to intake and packing/shipping.
