This position is based in Uppsala where Thermo Fisher develops manufactures and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy asthma and autoimmune diseases. Do you want to shape the next generation of diagnostic systems for allergy and autoimmune diseases We are looking for a Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to lead the development of innovative system solutionsfrom early concept to final verificationworking at the intersection of hardware software and clinical needs.
You will have overall technical responsibility for the development and evolution of complex analysis systems with a focus on system functionality and performance. You will ensure system designs meet customer needs as well as regulatory and quality requirements. The role includes leading system definition concept development and architecture across the full product lifecycle. You will coordinate requirements across disciplines and drive alignment between hardware software and workflows to support successful system development and delivery.
What will you do
Lead system design and define product requirements based on customer and stakeholder needs translating them into robust concepts and architectures
Own and maintain requirements ensuring alignment with regulatory standards traceability and product quality
Drive the full system lifecyclefrom concept and architecture through integration verification and customer feedback
Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams ensuring alignment between hardware software and workflows
Lead risk management activities including identification assessment and mitigation
Establish and govern system engineering processes methods and best practices
Support product launches and continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as a subject matter expert in system engineering supporting technical direction and decision-making
How will you get there
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Systems Engineering or a related field
5 years of experience preferred in system engineering product development or similar roles involving complex systems
Strong experience in requirements engineering architecture and integration across multiple domains
Experience working in regulated environments (e.g. medical devices or diagnostics) is highly valued
Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach to development
Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
Proactive and comfortable taking ownership in a team environment
Professional fluency in written and spoken English is required. Spoken fluency in Swedish is a strong advantage to support day-to-day collaboration and relationship-building
