About the area 

Inter IKEA Group is organized in three core businesses - Range Supply and Retail Concept - and five enabling we contribute to the success of IKEA andshare responsibility for the franchise offer. 

The enabling functions lead key common activities in networks across Inter IKEA Group as well as cover specific needs for the core businesses. The five Enabling functions are Operations Management Business Performance & Support Communication Sustainability and People & Culture. 

Operations Management leads and holds together the development and maintenance of a common foundation for how we work together across the value chain our operating model. We enable strategic movements towards the IKEA goals through the strategic landscape and work closely with all parts of the value chain to achieve includes teams for business insights capability and process development strategy and roadmap data and product and technology. 

Our mission in the Inter IKEA Group is to build a strong data foundation to enable the growth of IKEA. It covers among other things sustainability data and material data transforming it into a trusted and democratic resource. It empowers IKEA co-workers suppliers and customers to make sustainable and efficient decisions across the value chaingiving us the means to understand our past make informed decisions in the present and simulate the future impact of different choices.

About the job

We are looking for two Software Engineers to join our Data & Engineering platform team and help build a modern data foundation that enables true self-serve analytics on scale. 

Youll work at the intersection of software data and platform engineering and developer experience enabling teams across the organization to easily discover access and use data. 

 What youll do 

As a Software Engineer in our Data Foundation team you will: 

• Build and evolve our data platform capabilities to support self-service analytics and data product thinking 
• Design and develop platform services tooling and frameworks that enable data producers and consumers 
• Work with Databricks as a core component of our modern data platform 
• Contribute to our knowledge graph / metadata layer improving discoverability lineage and data understanding 
• Implement and promote DevOps practices (CI/CD automation testing IaC) for data and platform engineering 
• Develop solutions across multi-cloud environments (Azure & AWS) 
• Collaborate with data engineers analysts and domain teams to remove friction and improve developer experience 
• Drive standardization scalability and best practices across the platform 

What were looking for 

We believe you are a curious and pragmatic engineer who enjoys building platforms that others rely on. 

Required experience: 

• Strong experience in software engineering (Python JS/TS Go or similar) 
• Experience working with data platforms or data-intensive systems 
• Hands-on experience with Databricks or similar distributed data frameworks (e.g. Spark) 
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) 
• Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines infrastructure-as-code and automation 
• Experience designing APIs services or reusable platform components 

Bonus (nice to have): 

• Experience working with knowledge graphs metadata platforms or data catalogs 
• Exposure to Data Mesh or data product thinking 
• Experience with self-service data platforms or developer platforms 
• Knowledge of governance lineage and data discoverability solutions
