About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Architect specializing in Payments to join a large-scale technology initiative within the banking and financial services sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in payments architecture a strong understanding of banking products and financial services and a passion for designing scalable secure and future-ready technology solutions.

In this role you will lead architectural design and decision-making define target and transition architectures and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to deliver effective payment solutions. You will play a key role in translating business requirements into architectural designs while supporting complex projects in an evolving technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive solution architecture frameworks principles and strategies within the Payments domain.

• Design and develop target architectures transition architectures and architectural roadmaps.

• Establish architectural roadmaps and technical runways to support long-term technology objectives.

• Facilitate the definition of end-to-end payment flows in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.

• Contribute to detailed solution design alongside Business Analysts Product Owners and other key stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure architectural alignment and successful project delivery.

• Produce and maintain high-quality architectural documentation and deliverables.

• Engage with stakeholders across multiple business and technology areas to align architectural decisions with strategic objectives.

• Navigate ambiguity and support decision-making in large complex transformation initiatives.

• Provide architectural guidance across Payment Channels and Payment Processing Platforms.

• Ensure proposed solutions align with business requirements technical standards and broader enterprise architecture principles.

Requirements:

• 9 years of experience in Payments Solution Architecture or a closely related architectural role within financial services.

• Strong knowledge of banking financial services payment products and payment processing ecosystems.

• Proven experience designing and delivering solution architectures for complex payment systems.

• Demonstrated ability to develop architectural deliverables including target architectures transition architectures roadmaps and solution designs.

• Experience working with cloud platforms and technologies such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) AWS Microsoft Azure and OpenShift.

• Strong stakeholder management communication and presentation skills.

• Experience working in both traditional Waterfall and Scaled Agile environments.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical scalable technology solutions.

• Professional fluency in English both written and spoken.

• Experience with DevOps practices and modern software delivery approaches.

• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across business and technology teams.

• Experience working in large-scale banking transformation or payment modernization programmes.
