Senior Reliability & Automation Engineer – Gateway Messaging
Job Summary
Werelooking for a Senior Reliability & Automation Engineer to join us at Telia and help us run improve and modernize one of our most business-critical communication platforms.
ImFilippa Trossmark and I lead a cross-border DevOps team responsible for services that enable messaging and IoT communication across the Nordics and Baltics. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong operational mindset a passion for automation and the curiosity to explore how AI and modern observability can make operations more proactive reliable and efficient.
Whatyoulldo:
Gateway Messaging enables critical SMS and conversational communication used by businesses public organizations governments and citizens across the Nordics and Baltics. Every day the platform supports customer interactions societal functions and business-critical processes where availability quality and security matter.
You will work with a large-scale messaging platform in an environment where availability scalability security and operational excellence are essential. Together with the team you will help keep the Gateway Messaging platform running reliably across the Nordic and Baltic countries.
You will have end-to-end responsibility for platform capabilities from design implementation and integration to operations observability troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Operate improve and modernizethe Gateway Messaging platform.
Drive automationand improve ways of working to reduce manual effort and operational risk.
Strengthen observability telemetry monitoring and proactive incident prevention.
Handle incidents troubleshoot complex issues and contribute to stable 24/7 operations.
Work hands-onwith Linux-based production environments application servers web servers databases integrations and cloud-based services.
Collaborate closelywith colleagues stakeholders and external parties across countries.
Contribute to our journeyof applying AI to improve observability incident management automation and operational decision-making.
Participatein the 24/7 on-call rotation for Business Messaging services on public and private cloud.
What success looks like after your first year:
After your first year you are a trusted technical contributor and advisor within the team and toward key stakeholders. You have helped improve platform reliability service quality and operational stability delivered meaningful automation initiatives that reduce manual work and improve efficiency and strengthened proactive monitoring telemetry and observability practices. You have also contributed to roadmap discussions and the continued evolution of the platform creating positive outcomes for customers stakeholders and the team.

We are looking for someone who not onlyoperatesand improves systems but also shares knowledge takes ownership and helps the team continuously improve both technology and waysof working.
Several years of experienceoperatingoptimizing and continuously improving Linux-based production environments.
Experience withapplication server and web server administration.
Strong troubleshooting skillsand hands-on experience from incident handling in production environments.
Knowledge ofMySQL and/or PostgreSQL databases.
Experience withautomation scripting and DevOps practices.
Experience withtelemetry monitoring and observability.
Interest inAI-driven operations automation and service optimization.
Ability to balanceoperational stability with continuous improvement and modernization.
Strong collaboration and communication skillsin English.
Willingness toparticipatein a 24/7 on-call rotation.
