As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Markem-Imaje you get to work at the heart of our Print & Apply platform as part of a small team in an international context where ideas move quickly from discussion to implementation and everyones technical input matters.
In this role you will:
Be directly involved in and influence important technical decisions for the development of our Print & Apply products.
Work close to the hardware you are building software for developing a system level understanding of how your code interacts with the motors sensors and electronics around it.
Collaborate with the wider team both locally and across the global organization drawing on their experience while helping shape the direction of the products you work on.
The role involves hands on coding mainly in C in a Linux environment developing the controller software that runs our Print & Apply products. You will work close to the hardware from motors and sensors to the electronics that drive them testing and troubleshooting your own code together with the team.
Beyond the core C development you will have the possibility to:
Develop interfaces in Golang.
Develop motor control in C on FreeRTOS.
Collaborate closely with the electronics and mechanics teams to test and troubleshoot hardware related issues.
Take part in code reviews and contribute to improving the quality of the codebase together with the team.
Bachelors degree with significant professional experience developing software; a Masters degree is highly desired but not essential.
Senior experience in embedded development mainly in C.
Experience with low level programming sensors and motor control.
Comfortable making technical decisions and driving development forward in collaboration with a small team in an international context.
Basic understanding of physics for example through relevant university education.
Experience with Go programming and previous work with Linux ARM processors would be advantageous.
