Postdoc in Microgrids for AI data centers
Job Summary
The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) is driving an unprecedented demand for large-scale AI data centers creating new challenges for power supply energy efficiency resilience and grid integration. At the same time Arctic and sub-Arctic regions are becoming attractive locations for AI data centers due to their naturally cold climates which significantly reduce cooling requirements. These trends call for next-generation microgrids and power electronic technologies to ensure reliable and sustainable operation.
This project focuses on the design modeling control and management of microgrids for AI data centers. The project is funded by the Swedish Energy Agency in close collaboration with Arjeplog Municipality providing a unique real-world Arctic test environment.
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Strong research expertise in at least one of the topics: microgrids power systems or power electronics.
- Strong power electronic hardware skills or solid programming skills.
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- Experience with AI data center power systems microgrids solid state transformer DC/DC converters inverters etc.
- Experience in modeling and stability analysis
- Experience in hardware development or real-time simulation.
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues with specific focus on gender equality.
